Jace Ambwani (2000, she/her) is a contemporary artist and designer working in drawing and object making engaging with temporal elements. She grew up in the Bay Area of California before moving to New Orleans, Louisiana to study architecture. After finishing her bachelors in 2023, she moved to Berlin, Germany where she worked as a junior architect and urban planner. In 2025, she moved to London and is currently completing an MA in Fine Art Drawing at UAL Camberwell College of Arts. 

Jace’s practice engages with the psychological conditions shaped by contemporary existence. Her work explores nostalgia, loneliness and emotional tension through scale and architectural motifs. In her 3D work, she often refers to these experiences through the context of generational trauma, a dysmorphic sense of self, and shame in vulnerability. Her 2D are anonymous, obscure, and adolescent, exposing a raw side of one’s psychological state and relationship with their upbringing.

Jace’s process and research methodology are based in emotional endurance and material exploration. In the metal workshop, she incorporates various processes including screen etch resist on steel, welding, and soldering. In 2D, she uses oil pastel, acrylic, and charcoal, often blended with her hands, on different surfaces such as mirrors, paper, and raw canvas. Her methods demand inner reflection and are psychologically challenging. She engages in intense and laborious material processes that force her to face herself in new ways and unlock memories that had become obscured by avoidance. By engaging in these processes, she learns to trust and accept herself and her decisions, regulate her need for constant control, and accept the inevitable degradation of her work.
